After 7 weeks of working online, it seems to be the perfect time to start a work-out routine to power through!
So, the NCPA Tech Ambassadors here present our 15 minute-ish exercises and invite everyone to join!
Get your work-out outfit and gears – a yoga mat is recommended but not compulsory (for noise-canceling); furniture like chairs and table could be handy too. Reminder: be very mindful of your own body condition. Switch to alternative moves whenever you want to. The point is to cheer your self up!
Want to check out ebooks from our virtual library (Destiny)? Then you must keep reading … This news is brought to you from Ms. Rebecca ( email@example.com ) in the Library.:
We reset all the passwords for Destiny last week. It’s now really easy to get into Destiny/your own account.
Use your barcode ID # on your school ID. If you don’t know your number, just email me and I will tell you! This is now the username and password to get into your personal Destiny account. ( https://destiny.ncpachina.org/ )
Why do you want your own account? We now have OverDrive ebooks so you can borrow ebooks from the Library catalog! Or, if you are in an area other than China, you can download the Sora app and borrow books that way. We are under the Pearl River Delta Libraries drop down menu. Send me a message if you need help accessing either your Destiny account or the ebooks in the catalog/on the Sora app. Happy Reading.
In addition for those students who are attempting to use EBSCO for research:
Some students have reported that they are not able to access EBSCO through Canvas. I am working to fix that problem. For now, here is a work around, so try this new log in. Go to http://search.ebscohost.com/ and then type in the user ID ncpachina and password Library2020! when the log in screen appears. Please let me know if that works for you. And of course, let me know what else I can do to help in your research!
Thank you to those who have submitted feedback via the survey from yesterday’s Student Bulletin. If you haven’t … go do it NOW! We will use the information from the survey for future bulletins and to help teachers understand what is working well for you in Virtual School and what isn’t. 感谢昨天从Student Bulletin中提交反馈调查表的同学们。如果你还没完成，现在还可以提交！它在帮助我们老师们了解网络教学上哪些做得好与不好的地方起到很大的作用。
As you’ve notice, the Teams application is a big part of the Virtual School and I want to take the time to share useful information and tips to get the most out of this great collaboration resource. 正如你所注意到的，Teams这个应用程序是网络教学的重要部分，因此我想花点时间来分享有用的资料和技巧，以最大限度地利用这个很好的协作资源。
One of the biggest tech challenges of online school has been finding a way for students to download or watch a video from class relatively quickly. As teachers we’ve used resources such as: watching from Canvas, downloading from Canvas, downloading from teams, sending Sharepoint links, uploading to Stream and some teachers have even found their way on to Bilibili.
As we move further into online school we’re looking to create a seamless way for you to be able to reach these videos by syncing your classes ( in Teams ) with Onedrive. 随着我们进一步深入网络教学，我们正在创造一个无缝的方式，让你可以用Onedrive让视频同步到你的Teams课堂上。
I have a brief announcement from Ms. Rebecca in the library in regards to the library resource, Brittanica School. You’re teachers have also been informed of this information but if you need to access Brittanica School remotely for a class project here is how you may do so:
When you access remotely, please use below URL and access ID/ password to visit Britannica School:
Since the beginning of virtual school, students have submitted at least 188 tickets to the IT helpdesk. Of those tickets, the largest single source of problems (56 tickets; 31%) is students’ slow home internet connections. China’s limited overseas connectivity causes slow home internet connections – essentially, there is an internet traffic jam between China and the rest of the world.
While the IT helpdesk can’t disperse this traffic jam, the helpdesk has found common workarounds that help students to submit their work. Click Continue reading below to see the full list.
